🤔 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Determining whether group piano lessons are the right fit for your child involves considering their individual learning style, social preferences, and musical goals.

Group lessons can be beneficial for children who thrive in a collaborative and interactive environment, enjoying the camaraderie of learning alongside peers.

If your child is sociable and gains inspiration from observing others, a group setting may enhance their musical experience. Additionally, group lessons often include ensemble activities, fostering teamwork and communication skills.

However, if your child requires more individualized attention or has specific learning needs, private lessons might be a better fit.

Ultimately, observing your child's enthusiasm, considering their personality, and aligning the learning environment with their preferences will guide you in deciding whether group piano lessons are the ideal path for their musical exploration.

  • In Tiny VIRTUOSO group piano lessons, your child will embark on a comprehensive musical journey designed to instill a deep understanding and appreciation for the art of piano playing.

All our group lessons offer a structured foundation that covers essential skills such as note reading, rhythm, and piano technique. The curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to engage young learners, ensuring a balance between theory, practical application, and creative expression.

Through interactive activities and ensemble playing, your child will develop not only technical proficiency but also a keen sense of musicality and teamwork. The group setting provides a dynamic platform for students to share their progress, learn from one another, and collaborate in making music.

Whether exploring the joy of performance, delving into musical improvisation, or venturing into the world of composition, our group lessons offer a well-rounded and enriching experience that fosters a lifelong love for playing the piano.

  • Participating in our group piano class is designed to be convenient and accessible, with all necessary materials provided for an enriching learning experience.

We supply all printed materials for the lessons, and exclusive access to at-home study videos is included.

It's important to note that, to fully engage with the lessons, it is recommended that students have an instrument to play at home. While we recommend an 88-key weighted keyboard, such as the Yamaha P45, or an acoustic piano for optimal practice, we understand budget considerations. Any piano keyboard with at least 25 keys will work for at-home activities. In many cases even an iPad or tablet can be used with a free piano app to complete the optional at-home activities.

In cases where acquiring these instruments may pose a challenge, we encourage you to consult with our instructor for personalized recommendations on budget-friendly at-home instruments, ensuring that your child has age-appropriate tools for musical exploration.

  • Active participation during classtime is the only key expectation for your child throughout our group piano lessons.

During lessons, we encourage your child to engage wholeheartedly in the learning process, asking questions, participating in activities, and having fun with their peers at the piano.

Outside of class, regular at-home practice activities are provided weekly, but are not required. These at-home activities help to reinforce concepts and build a strong foundation at the piano. We recommend at-home practice sessions be very short and as frequent as you can manage, with the duration adjusted based on your child's age and progressing skill level. 3 year olds are recommended to only work at home for 5 minutes at a time, and 4 year olds up to 10 minutes at a time.

Additionally, we encourage parents to always keep a positive attitude and a willingness to explore the creative aspects of music making with their child. We understand that every child learns at their own pace, and our dedicated instructors are here to support you and your child on their musical journey. Your child's success at the piano is a partnership, and with your support and their active engagement, we can foster a love for music that lasts a lifetime.
