When the world went into lockdown in 2020, like most people I found myself feeling isolated and disconnected. As an avid pianist, I knew that music had the power to bring people together, so I decided to start offering my piano lessons as online group lessons as a way to connect with others through the power of music-making. That was the start of developing my VIRTUOSO group piano method.

But as I began to research ways to teach piano in a group setting, I quickly realized that there were very limited opportunities for people who wanted to learn to play the songs they loved in a social environment. Most of the available classes focused on classical music, which wasn't necessarily what I was looking for, or were designed with private one-on-one instruction in mind.

So, I decided to create both in-person and online group courses that focused on skill building while also incorporating popular songs and music from a variety of genres. My teaching style is all about making the learning process fun and engaging, while also helping my students develop the skills they need to play the music they love.

As I began to share my passion for music with others through my group piano lessons, I found that I was able to connect with more people through the joy of music-making. Whether my students were complete beginners or had previous experience at the piano, we all shared a love of music and a desire grow our individual piano skills together.

And even though the pandemic brought so on many challenges for us all, I'm so grateful to have begun my journey of teaching group piano during that time. I’m so thankful that I have found a way to bring people together through the magic of music-making at the piano.
